When you cant write about love anymore..you write about dead babies

Keeping up with the spirit of the last book I read...which I mentioned in the post below..the next book I read was Dead Babies by Martin Amis.

This was the first novel of his that I've read, and I'm definitely interested in reading some more of his works. This book was not like any other that I have read although the topics may be familiar. Dead Babies is about youth, beauty, sex, violence and drugs and the whole time manages to keep a magical festive tone. This disgusting carnival is ultimately a satire in which "dead babies" refers to truth, the real world..which the characters in the story would love to avoid at any cost. And wouldn't we all sometimes.
