My First Dictionary

When I was 7 my family emigrated to the United States..and no onethought to give me a dictionary..maybe because I couldn't read, but I think this picture dictionary would have been much more helpful than putting me in a special ed class =( P.S. 222 you will rot in hell.

Aptly named Pandamonium

This past weekend the World Wildlife Fund filled Piazza del Popolo  with paper mache pandas to increase awareness about the endagered species. 

I really wish I got to see this..maybe these traveling pandas (they are in Syracuse, Sicily now) will come to New York...or maybe Ill justhave to adopt a panda here.

I didn't know anyone still watched the Miss USA Pageants..but I guess they do? Inviting Perez Hilton to be one of the judges was probably the only way to attract viewers.

So Miss California aka Michael Phelps sometime girlfriend Carrie Prejean was asked a super important question by the super important Perez Hilton; and she thinks her answer may have cost her her crown.

Later in an interview on the Billy Bush Show she said

"It is a very touchy subject and [Hilton] is a homosexual and I see where he was coming from and I see the audience would've wanted me to be more politically correct," she added. "But I was raised in a way that you can never compromise your beliefs and your opinions for anything."

There's so much wrong with this.. I think if you are not interested in compromising yourself, don't run for Miss America, if you are running I assume you want to win, and if Perez Hilton asks if you love the gays your answer is YES. DUHH. This is not the platform to state your true honest beliefs..because who the hell cares honestly..aside from Perez? People are tuning in to see you strut in a bikini and smile. Gosh shes an idiot..but then again...why should this have cost her the crown?

Ehh marriage for all..its in the future anyway might as well follow Vermonts lead and then no1 will be asked questions like this.

Pratt Open Studios

Polina invited me to Pratt Open Studios yesterday..and as usual I like her art the best, and not because shes my friend but because I think shes incredibly talented..and I love the way that her style has evolved these past ten years. This is one of my favorite of her self portraits..for a few reasons, but especially because of the red eye which I think makes this painting.


And here's what else I saw at open studios..

My friend pointed out that this has an Edgar Allan Poe feel to it..and...he doesssssss have a story called "The Eye".. so maybe that was the inspiration here
