Charles Aznavour in Up

Charles Aznavour plays the old man in this ..and this also marks the first time an animated film opens up at Cannes..

Pacino/Blink

So apparently Leonardo Dicaprio is producing the movie Blink based on Malcolm Gladwells bestseller of the same name.

Blink  is a non-fiction collection of short snippets and factoids which prove the authors opinion that first impressions are usually correct and that on average it takes a person a maximum of 3o seconds to size up a situation or person to form an opinion about them.

From reauters:

"The connection to the book is that the son has the Blink qualities that Gladwell discusses: He can size up people and situations on a dime. Recognizing this ability, his father wants to help the boy find himself while at the same time using him to make some dough on Wall Street."

Hmm Al Pacino is in talks to star as the dad in the lead role. Kinda excited to see the trailer..def dont know about the movie but I like all the Gladwell books/articles.

This is the  link to the article that lead to the book "The Tipping Point"

Perhaps A New Career Path?

So ever since the Eliot Spitzer prostitution fiasco I've been thinking about prostitutes.. ok fine I've been thinking about prostitutes since I saw some gorgeouussssssssssss ones in Monaco when I was there on a work trip a few years back...ok fine I've been thinking about prostitutes ever since I found out what they were...(eeww not b/c I like girls but because its illegal, forbidden, sexy and alluring)...and now I can watch some in action..no not like that..(I think??)

Steven Soderbergh's latest movie The Girlfriend Experience shows us the life of a high class prostitute through the eyes of Chelsea, played by real life porn star Sasha Grey, which should be interesting. This will be playing as part of the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC.

Here is the trailer:

A few months ago, the NY Times Freaknomics Blog interviewed a real life prostitute named Allie.

Here is some of the interview:

"

Q. Have you ever had a client as powerful or well-known as Eliot Spitzer? (You haven’t had Spitzer himself as a client, have you?)

A. I have clients that are professional athletes, artists, and entertainers. They are probably better known, but obviously not as powerful. I don’t believe I have ever seen Eliot, or as I like to call him, Number 9.

Q. In what ways is such a client different from your run-of-the-mill client?

A. I haven’t found them to be that different. Some clients are worried that you will give out their information, and others don’t seem to care. You see the same thing with the typical guy that no one knows because he is deathly afraid of getting in trouble with the law, or with his wife.

Q. Do you typically know the true identity of your clients, and if so, how?

A. Yes. Always. I insist that they give me their full names and their place of work so that I can contact them there before we meet. I also check their identification when we meet. I also use verification companies, which assist escorts in verification of clients. These companies do the verification of the client and put them in a database so that when the client wants to meet with a girl for the first time, he doesn’t have to go through the verification process again. For a fee, I can call in and they will tell me if the client has a history of giving the girls problems, where he works, and his full name.

Q. How would you describe your typical client?

A. My clients are generally white, married, and professional males, between 40 and 50 years old, with incomes over $100,000 a year. They tend to be doctors, lawyers, and businessmen looking to get away for a few hours in the middle of the day."

Hehe...so basically my future husband will be sleeping (or drinking wine and chatting??) with a young beautiful vivacious HOOKER. CANNOT WAIT.....

You can read more of the interview on the Freakonomics blog. God why does she have to sound semi intelligent? Maybe I SHOULD reconsider my profession. Advertising Shmedvertising.

From Book To Film

I have never read a Brett Easton Ellis novel until I recently, randomly picked up a copy of The Informers which was definitely a fun read.

Oddly enough it seems someone else thought this was a fun read and they decided to make it into a movie..which is coming out soon!

Heres the preview:

Cant wait to see it..if you like rich spoiled kids, drugs, sex and vampires you should be excited too =)

Aside from American Psycho..another one of his books was made into a movie in 1987.

Less Than Zero stars Andrew McCarthy & Robert Downy Jr....and like everything else related to Brett Easton Ellis is fun..

Brett Easton Ellis has announced that hes is working on Part 2 of the movie in which he plans to reunite the original cast and show us where they end up 20 years later. He is planning on the movie getting a release date sometime  in 2010 ... and I guess well get to see if Julian Wells rises from the grave or not =)

Happy Watching...
